Following this year’s wonderful yoga day celebration, it’s time to save the date and register your interest for 2027 International Yoga Day celebration. You can expect a nourishing morning of gentle yoga, connection and fun as we celebrate the arrival of summer and the joy that comes from within. As we approach the longest day of the year, this is a lovely time to pause, reconnect and embrace the light of renewal, wellbeing, wisdom, inner peace and heartfelt joy.

Everyone is welcome, including ladies and gentlemen, beginners and mixed abilities. This gentle and supportive yoga session offers plenty of options, allowing you to move in a way that feels comfortable for your body. Please book early as places are limited.

What’s happening?
✨ A welcoming gentle, fun and supportive yoga and meditation session with yoga teacher Atim. You will be shown lots of variations of yoga poses so you can choose wisely to do what feels good and comfortable for your body.
✨ Enjoy time after yoga for a shared lunch; have a good chat with lovely people and make new friends. Lunch is provided, however, feel free to bring any snacks that you would prefer or would like to share.
✨ Please bring your yoga mat, warm heart and smile.

Every year millions of people around the world celebrate International Yoga Day which falls on the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Its the perfect time to honour light, renewal and the amazing benefits yoga. The 2026 theme was ‘Yoga for Wellness, Wisdom, and World Peace,’ reminding us of the powerful role yoga plays in shaping a healthy body, a balanced mind, and a peaceful society. Looking forward to sharing the 2027 theme soon. Watch this space.

Our yoga and social events offer a rejuvenating morning or afternoon of gentle stretching, de-stressing and relaxing. We invite you to explore the meaning of “peaceful warrior” in the yoga context. The peaceful warrior is a concept that has been significant since time began and represents a continuous journey in life of courage, loving kindness and wisdom that comes from a calm and peaceful, heart-centred self. We also all enjoy social time to get to know each other, with light snacks and refreshments.

Our shared sense of community: as well as paying for the weekly hire of the hall at St Michaels, Salute to the Sun Yoga also makes an annual donation to St Michaels & All Angels in Kettering as way of giving back to our lovely community.

What is your style of yoga?

Yoga with Atim is a moving, mindfulness, meditation style of Hatha yoga; it is a slow flowing yoga practice that is great for calming the mind, strengthening the body and improving your flexibility, posture and balance. The class ends with a guided, mindfulness meditation. The practice is inspired by the sun, moon, stars and you, the peaceful warrior. Atim hopes that yoga inspires you to cultivate inner strength within your body, mind and through every breath. In mindfulness, feel your inner strength fill your heart and your physical and emotional well-being. Use your peaceful warrior wisdom to make the right choices for your body, so that you only do the poses that feel comfortable, good and kind to you.

Yoga social events are a beautiful way to take care of yourself while connecting with others in a warm, welcoming space. Yoga helps you gently release aches, tension, and stress through slow, mindful movement, leaving you feeling more at ease in your body and calmer in your mind. When you pair that with spending time around kind, like-minded people, something really special happens.

Whether you’re coming on your own or with a friend, you’ll find an inviting space where everyone is welcome.
