Mind Body and You - Yoga With Atim

_Salute to the Sun Yoga Kettering - LOGO transparent

soothing, calming

The moon salutation is a soothing, calming and stress-relieving yoga sequence. It is a great way to balance and re-energise your body and mind before you get to the point of exhaustion. This yoga sequence is also ideal as a cool down at the end of a yoga class or after an exercise, pilates or martial arts class.

Some of you that come to yoga classes have heard a playful renaming of the 'Goddess Pose' as the 'HAKA POSE' especially for the gentlemen and to remind all of you to be playful with your practice - so smile, be strong and feel victorious as you're doing the haka pose.  The fourth variation of the yoga sequence videos offers an added balancing challenge.

Always move slowly and mindfully - slower than shown in these videos. You can slow down the speed of the video, by using the 'Settings' control which you can find by hovering over and clicking the buttons at the bottom right hand side of the video.  Watch each video a couple of times to become familiar with the sequence before giving it a go.  Find the version that suits you. Try to stay in each pose for 3 to 5  breaths.

You can do a 10 or 20 minute re-energising yoga practise by repeating the moon salutation sequence.

The first moon salutation video is via Bliss Body & Soul. The second video is courtesy  Awase Publishing, the third video courtesy of Christian Breitschmid and the fourth variation is courtesy of LTFYoga.
